The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, participated in today’s extraordinary G7 leaders’ video conference meeting on energy security. The leaders agreed on a coordinated response to energy market volatility. During her address, President Meloni shared the Government’s initiatives to mitigate the impact of rising prices on households and businesses: the fuel price cap obtained from the major oil companies, the measures regarding fuel duties and the proposals Italy has submitted to the European Commission. She also supported coordinated action on fuel stocks, focusing on diesel, and relaunched the proposal for a structured dialogue between the G7 and Gulf countries.
