  • Recent official NHC Atlantic/Caribbean bulletins, kept separate from Dominican alert levels. COE and Presidencia remain direct links while domestic feed reuse is unresolved.

Source-desk refresh and limitations

The visible page checks its same-origin desk every five minutes. Shared upstream caches limit airport requests to ten minutes, forecast requests to two hours, currency requests to four hours and regional bulletin requests to five minutes. These are cache intervals, not promises of new source data. No language model runs for this desk.

MET Norway forecast data is used under CC BY 4.0, with daily sample ranges and a noon-nearest description derived by NULLPEN. Observations are airport reports distributed by NOAA/NWS and are not city-wide measurements. ExchangeRate-API supplies daily indicative conversion data for this end-user display; fees and spreads are excluded. NOAA/NHC source bulletins are not independently verified local emergency instructions. Sources may be unavailable; stale readings are labelled, and expired bulletins are removed. Source terms are scheduled for review by 6 October 2026.

What “refresh” means here

The live desk and the editorial edition are different. A new source check does not make an old report new. Every report keeps its original publication time and data period.

The reader checks for a new edition every five minutes while the page is visible and offers an update without moving your reading position. Cloud intake is scheduled for 04:45 AST. Release checks run every 15 minutes, with a morning publication target of 06:30 AST. Only an already approved, rights-cleared edition can advance the public record.

The founding beta remains a dated archive until the first cloud edition is released. After that switch, an outage or withdrawal never silently restores the old edition. Source-permission holds still prevent new collection. The live check above reports the actual scheduler results.

News audio

Every report in the current edition has a NULLPEN house recording in both Reader 01 and Reader 02. They are disclosed synthetic voices: original designs rendered once per approved script on NULLPEN’s own equipment from open-weight models, not a cloned person and not a hosted voice service. Playback is user initiated, the transcript is on the page, and a correction withdraws the affected recording.

The separately labelled Device voice reader remains as an accessibility option for text that has no house recording. It uses a voice installed on your device, is not Reader 01 or 02, and its behaviour on some mobile browsers is outside our control. No language model runs to read the news to you.

  • Publication from the cloud newsroom. Editions are currently prepared and published by a scheduled daily run on the publisher’s own equipment, gated by the same checks; the always-on cloud engine has released no edition of its own yet, and the live check above reports its real generation count.
  • Daily social videos and email delivery. No social account connection or successful send is implied.
  • Company and publication formalities, rights clearance and verified legal/privacy contact details. Nothing here represents a completed registration, counsel approval or blanket reuse licence.
  • Advertising orders, accounts and payment processing remain closed.

Corrections are part of the product

Two reports were corrected on 6 September 2026: air-passenger arrivals and southern-grid losses. Both were republished as new versions with the previous figures, the corrected figures, the arithmetic and the source custody on the record, and both carry a visible correction notice on their own pages. The public register lists every correction with the approving editor and the date.

No model call just to read the news

Page views, topic filtering, text-brief assembly, RSS and the scheduled collection foundation do not call a language model. Artwork is generated or drawn once and reused. New voice recordings and future production work can have separate provider costs; they are not charged per listener by an on-demand generation endpoint.
