A series exploring positions of power and dominance by photographer Patricia Voulgaris. An artist from New York, Voulgaris received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts and graduated with an MFA from the Yale School of Art in 2024. “The Hunter” attends to the narratives that define hierarchies with bodies floating aimlessly–glimpsed through windows or cast through imagination–suspended between presence and absence:
“These characters–family members, my partner, and myself–inhabit a constructed world where we navigate power and belonging, constantly shifting between visibility and obscurity. As I weave together personal and fictional realms, I challenge perceptions of authority and identity, questioning who holds power and who is left to drift in the shadows.”
