Speaker Khader vows comprehensive healthcare facilities at Ullal CHC, ET HealthWorld


Mangaluru: Legislative assembly speaker UT Khader said all necessary facilities will be provided to establish a comprehensive healthcare system at Ullal Community Health Centre (CHC).

Khader inaugurated various facilities at the CHC, including the new building, dialysis centre, first floor of the AYUSH hospital building, mortuary and rehabilitation centre building supported by BPCL, on Friday. Khader, who is also the MLA of Mangaluru, said there was significant demand for a dialysis centre in Ullal and with the cooperation of Yenepoya Medical College, it will now become operational, he said.

The Ullal hospital, which was earlier a primary health centre, was upgraded to a CHC. He said due to improved medical facilities, the number of outpatients increased from 30 per day in to around 400 now. Health and family welfare minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said the well-equipped Ullal CHC is a model for the state. He promised that doctors, modern medical equipment, and other requirements will be provided to the hospital. The minister said emphasis is being given to the appointment of adequate staff at health centres and hospitals across the state.

MLC Ivan D’Souza, Mangaluru Urban Development Authority chairman Sadashiva Ullal, Karnataka Cashew Development Corporation chairperson Mamatha Gatti and others were present.
