Chandigarh: Additional chief secretary (ACS) to the govt of Haryana, health department, Sudhir Rajpal, has constituted a State Task Force (STF) to check the cases of female foeticide in the state.
The members of the STF include the mission director, National Health Mission (NHM); director, General Health Services (DGHS) Haryana; director general, women and child development; director general, AYUSH; director of Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC&PNDT), health department; state drug controller; and police department.
Director NHM, Dr Virender Yadav, said, “The STF is strictly implementing the PC&PNDT Act. As a result, registrations of 300 out of 1,500 Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) centres were cancelled or withdrawn.”
