For years, HotelTonight has been a great resource for travelers looking to score savings on last-minute stays, particularly at boutique hotels that might not be part of a traditional loyalty program like Hilton Honors or World of Hyatt.
The Airbnb-owned hotel booking platform also has its own version of a loyalty program: HT Perks. This program allows members to work their way up a series of levels, each with its own set of perks — like extra discounts or cash credits — based on lifetime spend.
Now, HotelTonight is adding a significant new reward: 10% back in the form of Airbnb credit for U.S. and U.K. members of HT Perks.
Here’s how it works, according to an announcement shared with TPG by HotelTonight: After checkout, guests will be prompted to claim their credits by signing into their Airbnb account and connecting their HotelTonight and Airbnb accounts. Future credits will automatically be added after each HotelTonight stay; these credits are valid for one year from stay completion. Frequent HotelTonight travelers can also stack their Airbnb credits, making it even easier to save up for future stays.
The program’s terms and conditions state that taxes and fees are not included in the total you can earn Airbnb credit on.
TPG tested out the new feature in a sample booking for New York City. Now, below a price comparison showing HotelTonight rates versus competitors like Expedia, the website displays how much Airbnb credit a booking will earn.

For example, a one-night booking at the Soho Grand Hotel — a popular boutique property in one of NYC’s buzziest neighborhoods — comes in at $396 per night plus $72 in taxes and fees for a total of $468. According to the checkout page on HotelTonight, I’d earn $40 in Airbnb credits after completing my stay.
“HotelTonight has always been about delivering the best price and overwhelming value,” HotelTonight’s general manager Ron Sandel said in the launch statement. “With this new offering, our guests don’t need to compromise between accommodation options. All of their hotel stays, whether for business or leisure, can go towards future Airbnb stays, giving travelers more value and options for upcoming trips.”
Airbnb purchased HotelTonight back in 2019 as part of its plan to become an “end-to-end travel platform”.
At TPG, we love having top-tier elite status, but we also love instant gratification. For many people, having a cash-back-like perk — this time in the form of credit you can use for another stay — is a big win. Just don’t forget, if you earn Airbnb credits through HotelTonight, you only have one year to use them.
