New Delhi: Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has praised India for its remarkable advancements in affordable healthcare, AI-driven diagnostics, and digital public infrastructure. Speaking at the “Future Forward” forum in New Delhi, hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in collaboration with the Gates Foundation and the Women’s Collective Forum, Gates highlighted India’s role as a global leader in innovation and sustainability.
Gates emphasized that India is not only building solutions for its own citizens but also creating scalable innovations with the potential to transform global health and development. He pointed to initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, digital financial inclusion, and AI-powered agricultural solutions as examples of how policy and technology alignment can create sustainable, global benchmarks.
“India has made significant progress in health and development through low-cost innovations,” Gates remarked, adding that the country’s advancements serve as a model for emerging economies worldwide.
Reaffirming the Gates Foundation’s commitment to partnering with Indian innovators, policymakers, and entrepreneurs, Gates expressed optimism about scaling India’s breakthroughs in AI, healthcare, and sustainable development to address pressing global challenges.
Smriti Irani, Chairperson of the Alliance for Global Good Gender Equity and Equality, commended Gates and his foundation for their focus on impactful investments, calling them a “transformative force that reshapes societies.”
