Kozhikode: Aster DM Healthcare’s MIMS hospital in Kozhikode has been accredited as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the American Heart Association (AHA).
According to a hospital statement, the accreditation was awarded after a thorough assessment of its stroke care program, which includes cutting-edge diagnostic capabilities, advanced treatment methods, and holistic post-stroke rehabilitation.
Dr. Venugopalan P.P, Head of the Emergency Department, said,“With our advanced stroke care infrastructure, we ensure that critical interventions are initiated without delay, significantly improving patient outcomes and recovery rates.”
In its release, the hospital attributed this accreditation to its Response-Rescue-Resuscitation (R-R-R) system, which enables real-time communication among emergency teams and hospital staff. This system allows medical teams to initiate interventions before the patient reaches the hospital, reducing delays in thrombolysis (clot-dissolving therapy) and thrombectomy (mechanical clot removal)—both essential for effective stroke management.
