Thiruvananthapuram: An adolescent health clinic started functioning at Pangappara health centre under the Thiruvananthapuram medical college. The clinic was inaugurated by Kazhakkoottam MLA Kadakampally Surendran. Sreekariyam ward councillor Stanley D’Cruz presided over the event.
Head of community medicine department at medical college Dr U Anuja, administrative medical officer of health unit Dr A Altaf, state nodal officer Dr Amar Fettle, district coordinator for the adolescent health programme Anuradha, counsellor Ranjini, and health inspector Arun spoke at the function.
The clinic will offer services including screening for lifestyle diseases, mental and sexual health counselling, substance abuse awareness, life skills training, career guidance and immunisation for adolescents.
