Minister issues orders to fill 26 posts in health centres, ET HealthWorld


Trichy: Municipal administration minister K N Nehru on Friday issued appointment orders to 26 medical professionals including doctors and nurses to fill vacancies in all 25 urban health and wellness centres in Trichy city.

The centres constructed at 6.2 crore in all five zones will provide 12 types of services including emergency care to the economically backward sections. Four medical officers, 15 nurses, and seven health centre assistants are among the appointees.

A committee comprising senior health department officials, headed by the district collector, had scrutinised applications and selected the new appointees.

Each centre will have a team of a medical officer, a nurse, and a support staff. The centres would operate between 8am and 12pm, as well as 4pm and 8pm. The centres will provide maternal care for expecting mothers, treatments for non-communicable diseases, and basic diagnosis for ENT and dental conditions. Pandamangalam, Kura Street, Vanapattarai, Periyar Nagar, Viragupettai and Ambedkar Nagar are among the locations where the health centre will function.

The minister also issued appointment orders to 11 lab technicians and paramedic staff at KAPV Govt Medical College and various govt hospitals functioning under the control of the joint director of health services in the district.
