Maxivision and Malabar Eye Hospital announce JV, ET HealthWorld


Chennai: Eye care chain Maxivision Group of Eye Hospitals has announced a joint venture with Malabar Eye Hospital in Kerala. This partnership will help to expand the three-decade-old Malabar Eye Care brand across districts in north Kerala, a statement said.

The newly rebranded Malabar Maxivision Eye Hospitals will generate over 400 new employment opportunities in the next two years. Two new hospitals in Calicut city and four secondary care centres in Kannur, Tellicherry, Quilandy, and Perinthalmanna will be launched.

The collaboration was launched in Calicut on Sunday. Kerala PWD and tourism minister P A Mohammed Riyas participated in the inauguration, it added.

GSK Velu, chairman, Maxivision Eye Hospitals said, “With our recent joint venture with Dr Rani Menon Eye Hospital and now with Malabar, we are expanding our footprint across Kerala with credible regional partners.”

Sudheer, group CEO, Maxivision Eye Hospitals said, “Our immediate priority is to transform the Eranhipalam centre into a super specialty eye hub.”

P M Rasheed, director, Malabar Maxivision Eye Hospitals, “Our patients will benefit from access to the latest eye care technologies, while our staff and students will get national-level exposure and growth.”
