Gandhinagar: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated a two-day conference on homoeopathy in Gandhinagar on Thursday in the presence of Union MOS for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav. The Ayush ministry said that this year, India is hosting the largest homoeopathy symposium on the occasion of World Homoeopathy Day at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
An official statement said that India currently has 3.45 lakh registered homoeopathy doctors, 277 hospitals, 8,593 dispensaries, and 277 educational institutions. About 10 crore people in the country depend on this line of treatment, the statement said.
Speaking at the event, the CM said that with the concept of s healthcare gaining momentum in the country, traditional forms of medicine are becoming more popular among people.
The statement added that on the pharmaceutical front, 384 industries are involved in producing homoeopathic medicines in India. This ensures the availability of standardised remedies across the country. To support quality, 1,117 official pharmacopeial monographs for homoeopathic drugs have been published, providing a reliable reference for safe and effective medicine preparation. The statement added that 35 research centres and OPDs under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), India, are pushing the boundaries of what this ancient system can do in the modern world.
The statement added that 28 state councils and boards ensure that doctors are well-qualified and ethically registered, maintaining public trust across the healthcare system.
