Vijayawada: Services in medical and health dept saw improvement, while complaints continue to pour in from the revenue dept with satisfaction levels of around 50per cent, according to the latest public perception survey. Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who reviewed the survey findings during a meeting with officials of revenue, temple, municipal, and hospital services on Monday, directed higher officials to hold the employees responsible where repeated complaints are coming.
Revenue dept, which has the dubious distinction of being the ‘most corrupt’, continues to receive a huge number of complaints. About 25per cent of the respondents in the survey complained that officials collected additional fees for surveying lands and processing passbook applications. Only 41per cent of people responded affirmatively, and said they were issued notices before conducting the survey. While 63per cent of people said the survey was conducted, 60per cent said a date was specified for the survey, with 57per cent stating that it was done on the specified date. Naidu told revenue officials that services in the dept needs to improve.
On medical services in hospitals, over 65per cent of people responded positively, expressing satisfaction over the availability of doctors, behaviour of staff, and availability of medicine in the hospitals. Naidu said services have improved slightly compared to previous reports, but added that further improvement is needed. Regarding municipal services, only 67per cent of people responded positively on garbage collection. Officials informed the CM that there are difficulties due to staff shortages in some areas, and they are addressing these issues.
On services in various temples regarding darshan, facilities, and cleanliness, 70per cent responded affirmatively that they had darshan within the expected time, while 63per cent expressed satisfaction on basic facilities like drinking water, washrooms, waiting areas, and transportation facilities in temples. On prasadams, 81per cent of respondents said they found it “fresh and tasty”. Naidu asked officials to utilise the services of volunteers to improve services in temples.
