New patent to make Genomic analysis more accessible in India, ET HealthWorld

Mumbai: HaystackAnalytics, a genomics-based diagnostic company, has received a patent for its new technology, “Systems and Methods for Secure Genomic Analysis Using a Specialized Edge Computing Device.”

This invention allows real-time genomic analysis at the point of use, reducing the need for complex infrastructure and specialized personnel.

The technology is expected to help doctors make quicker and more accurate diagnoses without requiring heavy investments in equipment. The company holds exclusive rights to the patent for the next 20 years and plans to integrate it into its existing solutions.

Dr. Anirvan Chatterjee, CEO & Co-founder of HaystackAnalytics, said, “India is making big strides in biotech and genomics, and our patented technology is a game-changer. It enables faster, more accessible genomic analysis, improving rare disease diagnosis, AI-driven healthcare, and public health preparedness.”

With growing concerns over diseases like tuberculosis (TB) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), India needs scalable genomic tools that can be used easily in hospitals and laboratories. The company is working with diagnostic labs and hospitals to make this technology widely available.
